The Town of Mount Airy, located in Frederick County, Maryland, is actively seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This full-time role is essential for maintaining the quality and safety of the town’s water supply and wastewater treatment processes.

Key responsibilities for the position include the operation and maintenance of both the water and wastewater treatment plants. The selected candidate will perform water sample collection and lab analysis, make process adjustments, and manage chemical feed pump adjustments. Additionally, the operator will assist in preventative maintenance tasks and will contribute to snow removal efforts during winter months. The job requires the ability to work one weekend per month in 4-hour shifts, with on-the-job training provided for the right candidate.

Applicants must be willing to obtain a Class 5A Wastewater and Class 3 Water Treatment licensing, with already licensed individuals considered a plus. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24.20 to $25.41, depending on experience, along with an excellent benefits package that includes participation in the Maryland State Retirement system.
