Creek ReLeaf Reforestation Open House

Frederick County Public Libraries is hosting a Creek ReLeaf Reforestation Open House on December 8, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Walkersville Branch Library. The event aims to inform residents about the Creek ReLeaf Reforestation Program, which is dedicated to planting a minimum of two acres of trees on both privately and publicly owned properties within the county at no cost to property owners.

The program offers multiple benefits for participants, including assistance in removing invasive plants from their land, having trees planted on their property, and maintenance of those trees for up to five years. Additionally, participants may receive compensation for keeping their land in trees, making it a valuable opportunity for local residents looking to enhance their properties while contributing to environmental sustainability.

Attendees of the Open House will have the chance to learn more about the specifics of the program and how they can get involved. The event is geared toward adults, highlighting the importance of community engagement in local reforestation efforts. Residents interested in improving their landscapes and supporting tree conservation are encouraged to attend.

The Open House will take place in the Darrell L. Batson Community Room at the Walkersville Branch Library, providing a convenient location for those who wish to participate. For further details about the event, residents can refer to the Frederick County Public Libraries’ website.
