FCSO Hosts Meeting on Data Center Construction Traffic Coordination

In a recent meeting convened at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center, representatives from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) engaged with officials from Rowan Digital, a data center developer, and ACE Solutions, a traffic escort service. The discussion centered on strategies for managing traffic related to ongoing construction at data center sites in Adamstown.

This meeting marks the second gathering aimed at addressing concerns over construction-related truck traffic and its impact on local communities, particularly in Adamstown and Buckeystown. Participants discussed a proposal to establish direct trucking routes, designate paths for oversized loads, and potentially restrict the use of certain local roads to alleviate congestion.

According to Sheriff Chuck Jenkins, the objective of these meetings is to create a streamlined traffic plan that minimizes disruptions for both residents and motorists. “Our goal is to establish a single, direct route to and from these construction sites,” Jenkins stated, emphasizing the importance of reducing the impact on the community as data center construction is expected to continue for several years.

Looking ahead, another meeting is anticipated, which will include representatives from Aligned, another data center developer, along with traffic managers from various general contractors. This ongoing dialogue aims to further refine traffic management strategies in response to the increasing construction activities in the area.
