Frederick County Division of Aging and Independence Launches Holiday Gift Drive

FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick County Division of Aging and Independence is gearing up for its annual holiday gift drive, aimed at spreading cheer to 300 homebound Meals on Wheels recipients. The county has called for community donations of new and unused items, which will be distributed to these older adults in need.

Among the requested items are hats, gloves, scarves, and socks for both men and women, as well as personal care items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Additionally, the division is seeking puzzle books, calendars, notepads, and individually wrapped treats such as cookies, candy, and hot cocoa. Notably, donations should be free of any religious imagery or phrasing.

Residents can drop off their contributions at any of the Frederick County 50+ Community Centers until Wednesday, November 25, 2026. The centers accepting donations include the Brunswick, Emmitsburg, Frederick, Middletown, and Urbana locations.

For those seeking more information about the holiday gift drive, the Frederick County Division of Aging and Independence can be reached via email at DAI@FrederickCountyMD.gov or by calling 301-600-1234.
