Residents of Frederick County are encouraged to attend a meeting on September 30 at 6 p.m. to discuss local transportation and transit needs. The gathering will take place at Winchester Hall, located at 12 E. Church Street in Frederick. This event provides an opportunity for community members to share their feedback directly with representatives from the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT).
The meeting will focus on the recently released draft of the Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP) for Fiscal Years 2027-2032. The CTP serves as Maryland’s six-year capital budget for transportation projects and initiatives. Among the key issues to be addressed is the investment in safety improvements along U.S. 15, which has been identified as Frederick County’s top transportation priority.
According to MDOT, the proposed enhancements aim to resolve safety and operational challenges along this heavily traveled roadway, which is critical for local commuters and travelers alike. The county noted that the meeting is open to all residents and does not require an RSVP.
Attendees can easily reach Winchester Hall via several Frederick County Transit options, including the 51 and 61 Connectors, which stop just two blocks away. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be streamed live on the county’s official website and through local Comcast channels.
