Public Invited to Participate in Legislative Town Hall on October 7

Frederick, Md. – Residents of Frederick County are invited to participate in County Executive Jessica Fitzwater’s annual Legislative Town Hall on Wednesday, October 7, at 7 p.m. The event will take place at Winchester Hall, located at 12 East Church Street. This gathering serves as a platform for community members to voice their concerns and priorities as the county prepares for the upcoming 2027 Session of the Maryland General Assembly.

County Executive Fitzwater emphasized the importance of public input in shaping legislative priorities, stating, “Every year, the decisions made by our state lawmakers in Annapolis shape our daily lives and Frederick County’s future.” The Town Hall aims to facilitate direct communication between residents and their local government, allowing community members to influence the legislative agenda.

Participants can access information about the County Executive’s proposed legislative package, as well as details on past years’ proposals and the legislative calendar, by visiting FrederickCountyMD.gov/Legislative. For those attending in person, several transit options are available, including the 51 and 61 Connectors, which serve nearby Market and Church Streets. Additionally, American Sign Language interpretation will be provided for attendees.

For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be broadcast on Comcast channels 1072 and 19 and will also be livestreamed at FrederickCountyMD.gov/LegislativeTownHall. Residents can participate by phone by dialing 855-925-2801 and entering the meeting code 11744.
