Frederick County, Maryland is excited to announce an engaging event for young readers, “Elementary Explorers: R.E.A.D. with WAGS for Hope,” set to take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Emmitsburg Branch Library. This unique program invites children in grades K-5 to enhance their reading skills in a supportive and enjoyable environment, alongside some of the most adorable Reading Assistance Dogs provided by WAGS for Hope.
The R.E.A.D. program aims to foster a love of reading through interaction with trained therapy dogs, who provide a calming presence that encourages children to read aloud without fear of judgment.
