The City of Frederick is hosting an Open House for the Golden Mile Small Area Plan (GMSAP) on October 22, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Southern Entrance of Warehouse Cinemas, located at 1301 West Patrick Street. This event aims to engage residents, business owners, and commuters in discussions about the future of the Golden Mile area.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with city staff and members of the GMSAP Steering Committee. The Open House is designed as a casual, drop-in event without a formal agenda or presentation, allowing participants to explore topic-specific booths, provide feedback, and share their visions for the area through various polls and activities. Additionally, each attendee can enter a raffle for a chance to win a movie night for four at Warehouse Cinemas.
Notably, the Golden Mile Small Area is home to over 40% of the children residing in the City of Frederick, and family participation is highly encouraged. A group coloring activity will be offered for children attending the Open House.
The City of Frederick is dedicated to making this event accessible, and those requiring accommodations or interpretation services are urged to contact the Planning Department in advance. For further information about the GMSAP or the Open House, residents can reach out to Brandon Mark, the Division Manager of Community Planning and Urban Design, at bmark@cityoffrederickmd.gov or call 301.600.1248.
