A portion of Ed McClain Road will be closed starting on or about October 5, according to a recent announcement from Frederick County Government. The closure will take place between Emerald Crown Drive and the address 4639 Ed McClain Road to facilitate the realignment of the road as part of the Monrovia East West Connector project. This work is being carried out by Kibler Construction Co., Inc., under contract with the county.
Detour signs will be strategically placed along Ed McClain Road, Fingerboard Road (MD 80), and Green Valley Road (MD 75) to guide motorists through the area during the construction period. The project is expected to continue through Spring 2027, contingent on weather conditions.
Residents are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly and remain attentive to the posted detour signage as the county works to improve local infrastructure. This realignment project is part of broader efforts to enhance transportation connectivity in the region.
