Fall Freecycle Roundup Event

The City of Frederick is hosting its Fall Freecycle Roundup event on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 8 AM to 2 PM at the Public Works Complex, located at 111 Airport Drive East. This biannual event allows residents to dispose of bulk items at no cost, aiming to promote recycling and minimize the number of reusable items that end up in local landfills.

Residents are encouraged to bring a range of items for disposal, including furniture, appliances, bicycles, large toys, mattresses, and lawn equipment, among others. The event has a limit of three mattresses or box springs per household, and all items must be less than 7 feet in length. Importantly, bags of trash will not be accepted.

In addition to the bulk item drop-off, local charitable organizations will be present to accept donations of clothing, books, electronics, and more. Document shredding services will also be available, providing residents with a convenient way to safely dispose of sensitive information.

Participation in the event is limited to residents of the City of Frederick, and proof of residency will be required. For further details, residents can contact the City of Frederick’s Department of Public Works at 301-600-1377.
