Big Greek Cafe Opens Second Frederick Restaurant
By Big Greek Cafe

Big Greek Cafe opened its newest restaurant on Monday, August 31, at 5221 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick’s Westview Promenade. The restaurant is open daily from 11am to 9pm.

The restaurant replaces Noodles & Company, which closed at the location earlier this year. It is Big Greek Cafe’s second Frederick County restaurant, joining the Urbana location that opened at Village Square at Urbana in 2022.

Twin brothers Nikos and Simos Marmaras founded Big Greek Cafe in Montgomery County in 2009 to honor their late mother, Koralia Marmaras. Her dream was to open a restaurant serving the comforting Greek dishes she made for family and friends.

The family’s history in the restaurant industry stretches back decades. Their father, Vassilios Marmaras, immigrated from the Greek island of Andros and has worked in the industry since 1968.
