The Frederick County Public Library (FCPL) Board of Trustees is set to convene for its annual retreat on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Trust Conference Room at the C. Burr Artz Public Library, located at 110 E. Patrick Street in Frederick, MD. This event provides an opportunity for board members to engage in discussions that impact the library system and the community it serves.
The agenda for the retreat includes both closed and open sessions. The closed session will address a personnel matter, in accordance with Sub-section 305(b)(1) of the General Provisions of the Maryland Annotated Code. Following the closed session, board members will reconvene to discuss policy revisions and review the financial report, offering transparency and insight into the library’s operations and governance.
This annual retreat is a significant event for the FCPL Board of Trustees as it allows for in-depth discussions on key issues affecting the library and its patrons. Community members are encouraged to stay informed about the outcomes of this meeting, as it directly influences the services and resources available to them.
Residents interested in the workings of the FCPL are invited to join the open sessions of the retreat, where they can learn more about policy changes and financial strategies. For more information about the meeting or the library, please visit the FCPL website.
