Frederick County 50+ Community Centers will expand their meal service to two days a week starting October 1, offering a program designed to enhance nutrition and social connections among older adults. Dubbed “Lunch Bunch,” the initiative aims to provide a welcoming environment for seniors to enjoy nutritious meals while fostering community ties and promoting independence.
The Lunch Bunch program is available at four locations: Brunswick, Emmitsburg, Frederick, and Urbana 50+ Community Centers. Adults aged 60 and older, along with their spouses, caregivers, and dependent disabled adult children, are eligible to participate. While a voluntary contribution of $6 is accepted, it is not mandatory for participation. The expansion to two days a week is expected to enhance access to healthy meals for local seniors.
Residents can find Lunch Bunch meals at the following centers on scheduled days:
- Brunswick Center: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, located at 12 East A Street. For more information, call 301-834-8115.

Reservations for Lunch Bunch should be made at least three business days in advance, although same-day reservations may be accepted if space permits. Special meals, such as “Lunch and Learns” or celebration events, will require reservations and may involve a fee. Residents facing financial hardships are encouraged to reach out to the respective community center for assistance.
