FREDERICK, Md. – The Scott Key Center is proud to showcase the artistic talents of its clients at the Delaplaine Arts Center’s Community Engagement Gallery in downtown Frederick. This vibrant exhibition, which opened on July 4, features a variety of artworks created by participants of the center, highlighting their creativity and individuality.
Under the guidance of Delaplaine Arts Center instructor David Modler, participants have explored innovative creative techniques, using simple shapes as a foundation for their artistic expressions. The Community Engagement Gallery is dedicated to displaying artwork developed through collaborations between the Delaplaine Arts Center and various local nonprofits and service organizations, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in the arts.
The Scott Key Center, part of Frederick County’s Division of Aging and Independence, offers crucial employment support, community integration, and day habilitation services for individuals with disabilities. Through programs like this art exhibition, the center encourages participants to explore their interests, develop new skills, and engage meaningfully with their community, fostering a sense of belonging and accomplishment.
The artwork from the Scott Key Center will be on display in the Community Engagement Gallery until August 30. Community members are warmly invited to visit the Delaplaine Arts Center to experience this unique exhibition and celebrate the creativity of local artists.
