Frederick County, Maryland, is excited to announce a unique opportunity for local teens to unwind and de-stress through the “Press Paws! Therapy Dogs for Teens” event. Scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, this engaging program will take place at the Urbana Regional Library, located on the second floor in the Small Conference Room (Room 302).
Designed for students in grades 6-12, the event invites teens to take a break from their busy schedules and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of spending time with friendly therapy dogs. Whether you’re tackling homework or simply looking for a moment of relaxation, participants can stay for as long as they wish-whether it’s a quick five-minute cuddle or the full hour of furry companionship.
The therapy dogs are provided by Wags for Hope, an organization dedicated to bringing joy and comfort to those in need through their trained canine volunteers. Research has shown that interacting with animals can significantly reduce stress levels and promote a sense of well-being, making this event a perfect way for teens to recharge their minds and spirits.
As part of Frederick County’s commitment to wellness and education, this event not only provides a fun and relaxing atmosphere but also fosters community engagement. Teens and their families are encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to connect with these lovable therapy dogs while enjoying the resources and facilities of the Urbana Regional Library.
