FREDERICK, Md. – Residents of Frederick County should be aware that Pleasant Valley Road will be closed between Garfield Road and MD77 starting on or about August 31, 2026. The closure is expected to last approximately one week, contingent on weather conditions. During this period, the road will be closed daily from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A signed detour will be in place to guide motorists around the affected area.
The closure is necessary for the Department of Highway Operations to replace a failing culvert pipe located at 14358 Pleasant Valley Road. This important maintenance work aims to ensure the safety and integrity of the roadway for all users. Residents are encouraged to plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid delays.
For further information regarding this road closure, residents can contact Joe Sollenberger at the Office of Highway Operations by calling 301-600-1573 or via email at JSollenberger@frederickcountymd.gov.
