Public Hearing Scheduled for Amended Bill 26-07
The Frederick County Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Winchester Hall, located at 12 East Church Street, Frederick. This session aims to discuss amendments to the eligibility criteria for the Elderly Individuals and Uniformed Service Members Property Tax Credit.
Residents are encouraged to engage in the discussion as the Council seeks to gather community input on the proposed changes. Copies of the amended bill can be accessed on the Frederick County Government’s website at www.frederickcountymd.gov/councilbills. It is important to note that the Council may modify the bill in whole or in part prior to final enactment.
For those unable to attend in person, the public can participate via a web portal available at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/CouncilMeetings. The hearing will be broadcast live on FCG TV (Channel 19), and community members can submit written comments to CouncilMembers@FrederickCountyMd.gov. Additionally, a toll-free number, 855-925-2801, is available for individuals wishing to leave voicemail messages or speak live during the public comment period.
Each speaker will be allotted three minutes to express their views. The Council emphasizes that all comments, both written and oral, will become part of the public record. Those requiring special accommodations are asked to contact the County Council’s Office at 301-600-1135 at least three business days before the hearing.
