The Town of Mount Airy is set to host its annual Mount Scary events on October 24, and to enhance accessibility, officials have announced the availability of a free shuttle service. Residents and visitors can park at Mount Airy Middle and Elementary schools, where shuttle buses will provide transport to the downtown area for the festivities.
This initiative aims to alleviate parking congestion in the downtown region during the popular event. The shuttle will operate throughout the day, allowing attendees to easily return to their vehicles after enjoying the various activities planned for the occasion.
Additionally, the Town has informed residents that the Railyard parking lot will close at 3 p.m. on the same day, further emphasizing the need for alternative parking solutions. This closure is part of the preparations for the Mount Scary event, which is expected to draw a large crowd.
Local families are also encouraged to participate in a Trunk or Treat event on the same day, as the community gears up for Halloween festivities. With these transportation options in place, the Town of Mount Airy aims to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
