Frederick Police Conduct Crash Investigation
The Frederick Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is currently investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in the Frederick Shopping Center. The fatal crash occurred on July 13, 2026, at approximately 3:37 PM, prompting a swift response from both the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division and the Frederick County Division of Fire Rescue.
According to preliminary reports, a 2013 Toyota Camry was traveling through the shopping center when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway near the Staples store. The pedestrian, identified as 74-year-old Ann Andrex of Frederick, Maryland, sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center in Baltimore. Unfortunately, on July 14, 2026, authorities were informed that Ms. Andrex had succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Toyota Camry remained at the scene and was uninjured during the collision.
