Frederick County Government Offices Closed on Labor Day

FREDERICK, Md – In observance of Labor Day, all Frederick County Government offices will be closed on Monday, September 7. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly as various county services will be impacted.

Holiday Schedule Clarifications:

  • Animal Control: The administrative office and kennels will be closed for adoptions. However, Animal Control Officers will be on routine duty and can be contacted at 301-600-1544. For emergencies, call 301-600-1603 or visit FrederickCountyMD.gov/AnimalControl.
  • Board of Elections: The office will be closed. For more information, visit FrederickCountyMD.gov/Elections or call 301-600-VOTE.
  • Department of Social Services: The office will be closed. For assistance, call 1-800-332-6347 or visit DHS.Maryland.gov.
  • Division of Solid Waste and Recycling: The Reichs Ford Road Facility, including the Transfer Station, Yard Waste Drop-Off, and Recycling Center, will be closed. Due to this closure, all collections scheduled for the week of September 7 will slide one day. Residents can consult the Recycle Coach App or call 301-600-2960 for more details.

  • Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney’s Office: Both the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Frederick County District and Circuit Courts will be closed.
