FREDERICK, Md. – Residents and commuters should be aware that a section of Ed McClain Road will be closed from Emerald Crown Drive to 4639 Ed McClain Road starting on or about September 11. This closure is part of a project being undertaken by Kibler Construction, which has been contracted by the Frederick County Government to facilitate the realignment of Ed McClain Road in accordance with the approved plans for the Monrovia East West Connector project.

The realignment is expected to enhance traffic flow and improve safety in the area. Detour signs will be strategically placed along Ed McClain Road, Fingerboard Road (MD 80), and Green Valley Road (MD 75) to guide drivers around the construction zone.

This project is anticipated to continue through Spring 2027, weather permitting. Motorists are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution while driving in the vicinity of the construction area.

For more information regarding this project, residents can contact Chaslyn Sleeter, Project Manager with the Office of Transportation Engineering, at 301-600-1585 or via email at CSleeter@FrederickCountyMD.gov.
