FREDERICK, Md. – Residents and travelers in Frederick County should be aware that Bloomfield Road will be closed starting on or around September 8, 2026. The closure will extend for approximately six to eight weeks, depending on weather and construction conditions. This temporary shutdown is necessary to facilitate the realignment of the roadway between Sundays Land and Old Willowbrook Road.

A signed detour will be established to guide drivers around the closure. Residents are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly during this period to minimize inconvenience. A detailed map of the detour can be viewed below.
