The City of Frederick is thrilled to announce the launch of its first-ever “Junior Entrepreneur Pitch Competition,” set to take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at New Spire Arts Stages.
This exciting event invites young entrepreneurs in grades K-12 to present their innovative business ideas for a chance to win a share of a $5000 prize pool to help grow or start their businesses. The Junior Entrepreneur Pitch Competition aims to foster creativity and entrepreneurial spirit among the city’s youth, providing them with a platform to showcase their ideas, practice public speaking, and receive valuable feedback from experienced judges. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with other young entrepreneurs and gain insights into the world of business.
Mayor Michael O’Connor expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “I am incredibly excited to see the Junior Entrepreneur Pitch Competition come to life in Frederick. This event represents a fantastic opportunity for our young residents to develop their entrepreneurial skills, gain confidence, and bring their innovative ideas to the forefront. Our city is committed to supporting the next generation of business leaders, and I look forward to seeing the creativity and talent that will be on display.”
This program is open to Frederick County students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
