FREDERICK, Md. – The over-height warning portal on Roddy Road south of the covered bridge near Thurmont was struck and damaged by a vehicle Friday. As a result, the road will be closed at the bridge until repairs can be made to the warning portal. The historic Roddy Road Covered Bridge was not harmed. The responsible person remained on the scene. Repairs to the over-height warning portal are expected to take a week and will be completed by the Department of Highway Operations.  Department staff has notified emergency personnel.
