‘Reflections of Resilience: Celebrating Black Voices in Art,’ Exhibition Opening in City Hall – Frederick Pulse

The City of Frederick is pleased to present ‘Reflections of Resilience: Celebrating Black Voices in Art,’ a group exhibition featuring artists who have contributed greatly to the city’s cultural fabric. Curated by Wendell Poindexter, the exhibition features artists who explore themes of identity, perseverance, and cultural heritage, capturing the essence of the Black experience through a diverse range of mediums. ‘Reflections of Resilience’ features Poindexter’s work alongside the work of Lusmerlin, Pierre Bowins, Taurean Washington, Ted Luck, and Yemi Fagbohun. Each artist delves into personal and collective narratives highlighting resilience and the ongoing struggle for equality. Through vibrant colors and evocative imagery, these artists invite viewers to reflect on the strength and beauty inherent in their communities.

The exhibition is on view at City Hall (101 N Court Street, Frederick, MD 21701) from Monday, February 3, to Wednesday, March 5, 2025. It is one of several city-wide programs organized in honor of Black History Month and a part of the Office of the Mayor Art in City Hall Program. City Hall is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
