FREDERICK, Md. – Telephone service for all landlines in Frederick County Government offices was restored Saturday evening, following a multi-day outage. Office phones had been unable to make or receive calls since early Thursday morning. A damaged fiber is believed to have caused the outage.
Emergency services were not impacted by the outage. The public could call 9-1-1, and call-takers were able to dispatch first responders without interruption.
Frederick County continues to offer multiple ways for the public to contact government divisions. The FCG FixIt app is available for download from Google Play and the Apple App Store. People can also submit questions and report non-emergency issues online at FrederickCountyMD.gov/FCGFixIt or by texting a division directly. A full list of text lines is available at FrederickCountyMD.gov/TextUs.
