Frederick Police Investigate Shooting Incident (Update) – Frederick Pulse

Update: This press release has been revised to include information on two additional shooting incidents that occurred in Frederick on the night of August 9, 2024.On Friday, August 9, 2024, at approximately 10:05 p.m., officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of a firearm discharge in the area of Wilson Place at Taney Avenue.Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene. The victim was flown to Shock Trauma for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Additional Incidents:

At approximately 10:53 p.m., while still on scene at Wilson Place and Taney Avenue, officers received a second report of gunshots in the area of the 1400 block of Hampshire Drive. When officers arrived, they located evidence confirming that a shooting had taken place.At approximately 12:15 a.m. on August 10, officers responded to a report of a third shooting that took place in the 1300 block of Baker Place. Officers located evidence at the scene, and a short while later, a male victim arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Detectives are actively investigating these incidents and any potential connections between them.
