Officers received information from another law enforcement agency that a subject, identified as Jerome Mario Britton, 45, was possibly traveling to Frederick with a substantial amount of illegal narcotics. Patrol officers observed a gray Dodge Challenger in the area of the 300 block of W. 7th Street, which they determined was registered to Britton’s wife. Britton was identified as the operator of the vehicle.
After observing that the vehicle’s registration was expired, officers initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Frederick Health Hospital. A K9 unit was deployed to the scene, and the K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
Based on the positive K9 alert, Britton was placed under arrest, and a search was conducted of his person and vehicle. The search yielded approximately 122 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 2 grams of suspected Crack Cocaine, and 24 grams of suspected Marijuana. Additionally, officers recovered multiple zip-lock bags containing several different colored small baggies, consistent with packaging materials for drug distribution.
Britton was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with multiple counts of CDS possession, possession with intent to distribute, and resisting/interfering with arrest.
