Frederick County to Host Deaf History Month Celebration – Frederick Pulse

FREDERICK, Md. – Members of the community are invited to attend Frederick County Government’s annual Deaf History Month celebration on Tuesday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. The event will be held at C. Burr Artz Library, located at 110 E. Patrick Street in Frederick. 

In partnership with the Maryland Deaf Community Center and the Maryland School for the Deaf, the upcoming event will honor the deaf and hard of hearing community. The celebration will feature a proclamation from County Executive Jessica Fitzwater and a panel of residents who will discuss their historical and current experiences in Frederick County as deaf community members.

American Sign Language interpreters will be present at the upcoming event. Requests for other interpreters should be made by calling 301-600-1208.
