FREDERICK, Md. –Frederick County Government offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, for Independence Day. County offices and services will return to regularly scheduled hours on Friday, July 5.
Clarifications to the holiday schedule:
- Animal Control : Administrative office will be closed, and kennels will be closed for adoptions on July 4. Animal Control Officers will be on routine duty and can be reached by calling 301-600-1544. For emergency situations, call 301-600-1603 or visit FrederickCountyMD.gov/AnimalControl .

- Division of Solid Waste and Recycling : The Reichs Ford Road Facility, including the transfer station, recycling center, yard waste drop-off, and administrative support, will be closed. Due to this closure, all collections set for July 4-5 will slide one day, with Thursday’s curbside collection sliding to Friday, and Friday’s collection sliding to Saturday. - Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney’s Office : District and Circuit Courts will be closed.
