FREDERICK, Md – Frederick County Government offices will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. County offices and services will return to regularly scheduled hours Monday, December 2.
Clarifications to the holiday schedule:
- Animal Control: Administrative offices will be closed, and kennels will be closed for adoptions Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Animal Control Officers will be available for animal related emergencies only Thursday, November 28. Animal Control Officers will be on routine duty Friday, November 29, please call 301-600-1544. - Department of Social Services : Office will be closed. For further details, call 1-800-332-6347 or visit www.dhs.maryland.gov .
- Division of Solid Waste and Recycling: The Reich’s Ford Road Facility, including the Transfer Station, Yard Waste and Compost Programs, Citizens Convenience Center, and Recycling Center, will be closed Thursday, November 28 with operations resuming Friday, November 29 from 7 AM-4:30 PM. Administrative and customer services will operate in a limited capacity Friday, November 29. Due to the Thanksgiving Day closure, recycling collection will slide one day, with Thursday’s collection sliding to Friday and Friday’s collection sliding to Saturday.

- Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney’s Office: District and Circuit Courts will be closed.
