FREDERICK, Md. – People who live in Frederick County are invited to the Division of Solid Waste and Recycling’s Residential Household Hazardous Waste spring drop-off event on Saturday, May 3. This semi-annual event ensures that people who live in Frederick County can responsibly dispose of hazardous waste at no cost.
Accepted items include materials like pesticides, herbicides, fluorescent bulbs (compact and tube), lithium-ion batteries, button batteries, solvents, and other items that may or may not be marked as “Hazardous Waste.”
Important reminders to prepare for this event:
This event runs from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the upper-level parking lot of Keys Stadium at 21 Stadium Drive, Frederick, MD 21703.People should arrive prepared with an ID showing residency in Frederick County and with an understanding of what items they wish to dispose of.Lines can form during this event. Be prepared for potential wait times longer than 10 minutes. Walk-ups will not be accepted, and people should stay in their vehicles until directed.People should enter Stadium Drive from New Design Road as left-hand turns into the event are prohibited and could potentially cause traffic delays or accidents.Please follow all signs and directions from County staff and its on-site contractor.
