FREDERICK, Md. – The Division of Public Works, Traffic and Permit Section, announced today that the timing of the temporary signals activated at the intersection of Boyers Mill Road and Pinehurst Drive on Tuesday, February 4 are currently going through a process of adjustment to achieve optimal efficiency for the conditions. A new signal phase including extended green time Eastbound on Boyers Mill Road was updated to provide relief for residents turning left at peak traffic flow times. As more adjustments are installed to the temporary signal, the County will provide notice to the community of potential traffic pattern changes.
Temporary signalization of this intersection is required to address safety issues related to steep slopes and visibility that cannot be addressed at this time by any other means. Expect delays as this process progresses. When optimal efficiency is achieved there still may be delays at certain times of day on one or more legs of the intersection.
