Introducing City of Frederick Districts: What You Need to Know

The Frederick City Council has passed an exciting new rule to establish city districts, bringing a transformative change to how our local government operates and represents the community.

This initiative is designed to ensure every neighborhood has a direct voice in city decision-making by creating five city districts, each represented by its own elected official on the City Council.

Why Are We Creating Districts?

The introduction of city districts will:

Enhance Representation: Residents in every district will have a dedicated representative who understands their unique concerns and priorities.Promote Equity Across Neighborhoods: Resources and services will be distributed more fairly.Strengthen the Community Voice: Smaller districts allow for greater participation and accountability in decision-making.
