On September 16, 2024, the City of Frederick received notice from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development that their application for renewal of the Sustainable Communities designation was approved by the Smart Growth subcabinet.
The designation allows the City and community partners in the designated areas to apply for and receive various funds, financing and incentives from the Departments of Housing and Community Development, Transportation, and Environment.
