Board of Education of Frederick County Holds Elections – Frederick Pulse

The Board of Education of Frederick County elected Rae Gallagher as President and Dean Rose as Vice President.

The Board elections took place ahead of the December 11 Board of Education meeting. Each December, the Board holds elections for leadership positions for the upcoming year. Each Board member has a vote in the election.

This is the first time Gallagher has served as the Board’s president. During the last year, Gallagher served as the Board’s Vice President after being elected to the Board of Education in 2022. She was previously appointed to the Board by then County Executive Jan Gardner in 2020 to fill a vacancy. She completed her tenure later that year.

Gallagher has served in several non-profit leadership positions, collaborating with organizations to shift policy and ensure safe, supportive school environments. Her biography is posted online.

This is Rose’s second stint as the Board’s vice president. He previously served as vice president for one year after being elected in December 2022. Rose has lived in Frederick County since 1998 and served as a volunteer with several nonprofit organizations. His biography is posted online.
