On Monday, April 28, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Key Parkway.
Upon arrival, officers located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived on scene. Both victims were transported by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with non-life-threatening injuries. They were treated and released the following day. The victims declined to cooperate with investigators.
Scene processing revealed multiple shell casings, and several vehicles and surrounding property were damaged by gunfire.
As a result of the investigation, Nyzeir Sampson (DOB 11/02/1996) was identified as a suspect. On May 5, 2025, Sampson was taken into custody in Hagerstown, Maryland, through a coordinated effort between Frederick Police Department detectives and the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
