Overnight Ramp Closures on Northbound US 15 for Pipe Inspections

The City of Frederick is alerting residents and motorists about upcoming overnight ramp closures on northbound US 15. The closures, announced by the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration, are necessary for pipe inspections related to the ongoing US 15 Capacity Improvement Project, which is currently in the design phase.

On Monday, September 14, the ramp to Rosemont Avenue (Exit 14) will be closed overnight from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Motorists will be directed to use a detour via 7th Street at Exit 15 and southbound US 15 to access Rosemont Avenue. Additionally, the northbound US 15 ramp to 7th Street at Exit 15 will be closed overnight on Tuesday, September 22. During this closure, drivers will be guided to Motter Avenue at Exit 16, utilizing southbound US 15 to reach 7th Street.

Further pipe inspections will also necessitate single-lane and shoulder closures during overnight hours. This work is expected to be completed by October, weather permitting.
