FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick County Government invites residents to join the celebration of Arts in Education Week on Monday, September 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. The event will be hosted at Winchester Hall, located at 12 East Church Street in Frederick. This community gathering aims to underscore the vital role that the arts play in education and the overall development of students.
Attendees can look forward to a proclamation from County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, as well as engaging performances by dancers from the Lead Academy of Dance and actors from the Maryland Ensemble Theater. The event will also showcase an impressive collection of artwork created by students from Frederick County Public Schools, highlighting the creative talents of local youth.
Arts in Education Week is a national initiative that celebrates the transformative power of the arts within educational settings. By drawing attention to the importance of artistic learning, the week emphasizes how the arts foster innovative thinking and creativity among students of all ages.
The event is free and open to all members of the community. For those unable to attend in person, the celebration will be recorded and made available for later viewing on FCG TV.
