2024 Labor Day Service Changes: Trash, Yard Collection Recycling and More – Frederick Pulse

The City of Frederick offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 2, 2024. Please see below for a list of holiday service changes:

Trash Collection

Residential:

There will be no trash collection service on Monday, September 2, 2024. If you normally set out your household trash on Sunday evening for Monday collection, please set your trash out on Monday evening for Tuesday collection. All other trash routes are as scheduled.Do NOT set yard waste out for collection.

Yard Waste Collection

Residential:

There will be no yard waste collection for Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) 6&7 on Monday, September 2, 2024. NAC 6&7 yard waste collection will resume regular schedule on Monday, September 9, 2024. Do NOT set yard waste out for collection. Commercial Downtown Business District Commercial Downtown Business trash will be collected on the normal schedule.

Recycling

Commercial Downtown Business Recycling Service (Not Residential): Recycling will not be collected on Monday, September 2, 2024. It will return to the normal schedule on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Residential Recycling: Refer to Frederick County Recycling holiday schedule at: https://www.frederickcountymd.gov/1764/Recycling-Information

Parking

No payment is required at City garages and meters on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Housing and Human Services

The Department of Housing & Human Services will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024. The Community Table will be open per its normal schedule. The Food Banks will be closed.

Recreation

The William R. Talley Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024.
